The Dark Knight Trilogy star Christian Bale thinks President Donald Trump thought he was really Bruce Wayne when they met back in 2011.
In The Dark Knight, the Prewitt building featured during the third act was actually Chicago’s partially constructed Trump Hotel & Tower and the Trump Tower in New York City posed as Wayne Tower in The Dark Knight Rises. On the red carpet for the Vice premiere, Bale joked with Variety about the time he met President Trump while filming The Dark Knight Rises back in 2011:
“We were filming on ‘Batman’ in Trump Tower and he said, ‘Come on up to the office.’ I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”
Vice was directed by Adam McKay and stars Bale, Amy Adams, Steve Carrell, Sam Rockwell, Jess Plemons, Alison Pill, Shea Whigham, Lily Rabe, Vanessa Cloke, Tyler Perry, Tiffany Smith, and Justin Kirk.
The story of Dick Cheney (Christian Bale), an unassuming bureaucratic Washington insider, who quietly wielded immense power as Vice President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
Vice hits theaters December 25, 2018.
