Thor: The Dark World star Christopher Eccleston says that he would appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again, but under one very specific condition.
It’s common knowledge that Christopher Eccleston wasn’t happy with his role as Malekith the Dark Elf during Thor: The Dark World. The actor wasn’t told about the fact he’d be in makeup for several hours before shooting, as well as the film’s lack of humor. But Christopher Eccleston has now said that he’d appear in another Marvel movie under one specific condition.
Radio Times reported that Christopher Ecclestone praised Thor: Ragnarok at New York Comic-Con, calling it “brilliantly written” before discussing the varying reactions to his role in Thor: The Dark World. He mentioned that if the writers of Thor: Ragnarok wrote the film he’d appear in (presumably another Thor entry), then he’d make a comeback. Since Thor: Love and Thunder is slated for November 2021, there’s still time for Marvel Studios to get Christopher Eccleston back on board. Take a look at his brief comments about a potential future Marvel appearance below.
“I understand that some people love that particular film, and some of you actually like Malekith the naughty elf, so that’s only my experience within it. But I know that people love the film and I accept that and I’m careful about it. I’m so diplomatic these days! If it was the guy[s] who wrote the third… I’ll do that.”
