With Daniel Craig’s involvement in the next installment of the James Bond franchise uncertain, a number of fans are curious to see if the next 007 adventure will require fresh take on the character with a new actor in the role. With Skyfall and Spectre director Sam Mendes no longer returning to helm a Bond film, his successor has also been the subject of speculation, with self-professed Bond fan Christopher Nolan being the top choice for many. In an interview with Playboy Magazine, Nolan discussed the possibility of directing a Bond film and revealed what condition would be required for him to helm 007’s next mission.
Nolan revealed that he would direct a Bond film if the franchise needed to be reinvented:
“A Bond movie, definitely. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”
Of course, Nolan has experience breathing new life into troubled franchises, having directed the critically acclaimed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight several years after disastrous Batman & Robin. Would you like to see Nolan’s take on the iconic James Bond character? Share your thoughts below!
