Tenet director Christopher Nolan has revealed that he is excited to see what Robert Pattinson does the upcoming film, The Batman.
The Batman franchise was the one that arguably made Christopher Nolan’s career. While the Tenet director has proved himself over multiple times since then, his career as a director really took off following the success of Batman Begins and its sequel The Dark Knight. Since the release of his third Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan has dedicated himself to releasing original projects and has steadily distanced himself from superhero adaptations. This, however, does not mean that he is not excited to see what Robert Pattinson does in the role.
Robert Pattinson is the co-star of Christopher Nolan’s latest film, Tenet. While working on the film, Robert Pattinson auditioned for the role of Batman and initially tried to keep his role secret from the director. However, eventually, Nolan caught on and the two kept quiet about the part.
During a recent interview with CNA, Nolan opened up about his feelings as Robert Pattinson as Batman and is excited to see what he does with the part:
“He certainly did not ask me for any advice. We kept a respectful silence around the issue until very near the end of the shoot. We said a couple of things and made a couple of jokes. We did have a little bit of a conversation about the various aspects of what he was going to be putting himself through. But I was thrilled that he was cast, and I think he’ll do an amazing job. I’m really excited to see what he does with that character.”

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the project will revolve around Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment to a new trilogy starring Pattinson as Batman.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman is currently set to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Batman and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
