‘Civil War’ Fan Theory Says Captain America Was Aware Of Spider-Man

Spider-Man Captain America Civil War

It turns out that Captain America (Chris Evans) may have been aware of Spider-Man and his powers before their fight in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.

Thanks to the cliffhanger ending to Avengers: Infinity War, theories regarding that film and its upcoming sequel have popped up all over the place. One of the latest Marvel fan theories actually goes back a couple of years to Captain America: Civil War, which saw the introduction of Peter Parker (Tom Holland), a.k.a. Spider-Man, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The airport fight is one of the most iconic fight scenes in the MCU and according to a fan theory, there may have been an interesting detail that some fans missed.

The theory comes in a Reddit post from user j_u_s_t_i_n and claims that the reason for Captain America dropping the sky bridge on Spider-Man is that Cap knew about the existence of Spidey all along. The theory even claims that both Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) and Cap were observing Spider-Man’s crime-fighting for later Avengers recruitment. Check out the full fan theory in the post below.

[Captain America: Civil War] Cap knew who Spiderman was from FanTheories

Captain America: Civil War featured many of the MCU heroes battling against one another, so much so that the effects of the events in Civil War bled over into Avengers: Infinity War. Captain America is a soldier and has shown in his films that he’s not afraid to kill the enemy, but this fan theory brings up a valid point that Cap probably wouldn’t drop a sky bridge on Iron Man’s ally, even given the circumstances.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the MCU as soon as more information becomes available. What’s your opinion on this Captain America: Civil War fan theory?
