Warner Bros. and DC Studios have officially set release dates for two of their highly anticipated projects. Mike Flanagan’s standalone Clayface movie, produced by The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris, is scheduled to hit theaters on September 11, 2026. The project, which does not yet have a director or star attached, is based on a script written by Flanagan.
Additionally, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation have announced a June 30, 2028, release for Dynamic Duo, an animated origin story of Robins Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The film, which will be released in IMAX, marks the first collaboration between DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
Dynamic Duo is directed by Arthur Mintz from a script by Matthew Aldrich, with Theresa Andersson, Matt Reeves, and Lynn Harris producing. The project aims to delve into the early years of two of Batman’s most famous sidekicks ahead of The Brave and the Bold, which will introduce the Damian Wayne version of Robin.
James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe continues to grow
The Clayface and Dynamic Duo films are the latest projects in development from DC Studios, which recently premiered its first animated series, Creature Commandos, on Max. The studio is also actively working on high-profile projects including Superman: Legacy, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and the Lanterns series, as part of its ambitious new slate under James Gunn and Peter Safran.
While DC Studios is focused on building a cohesive new DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran, it is also continuing to develop standalone Elseworlds projects from acclaimed filmmakers. These include Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe, as the filmmaker is currently developing Robert Pattinson’s second cinematic solo outing as the Caped Crusader.
