Cobra Kai star Mary Mouser has auditioned for the iconic role of Lois Lane in the DC Universe movie Superman: Legacy. Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider revealed the exciting news during the latest episode of the Hot Mid podcast.

Mary Mouser gained widespread recognition for her role as Samantha LaRusso in the popular series Cobra Kai, which served as a continuation of the beloved Karate Kid franchise. Prior to Cobra Kai, Mouser had already made a name for herself in the industry with notable credits in series like Body of Proof, Scandal and NCIS.

Mary Mouser is not alone in vying for the coveted role of Lois Lane, as several other talented actresses have also thrown their hats into the ring. Her competition includes Rachel Brosnahan, Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynevor and Samara Weaving.

Rumors are also swirling about the potential actor to step into the shoes of the Man of Steel himself. David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson are among the actors vying for the iconic role of Superman. DC Studios is said to have a particular interest in Corenswet, known for his work on The Politician and Hollywood.

Superman: Legacy will not only focus on the central characters but also introduce new faces to James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe. According to reports, Legacy will feature numerous DC Comics heroes who are already established when Legacy begins.

Superman’s DC Universe Future

Superman: Legacy is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world. The choice to focus on the early years of his career is a bold move that could potentially breathe new life into the character and appeal to a younger generation of fans.

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room and a unified storyline across film, television, animation and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.
