A couple of weeks ago, it had been revealed that Supergirl Season 2 was adding several new characters to the show when it makes its move to The CW this fall, one of them being Snapper Carr. Today we finally know who is playing him as Entertainment Weekly just broke the news that Cougar Town’s Ian Gomez has been tapped to play the character in the second season of the Girl of Steel.
Here is how Entertainment Weekly describes Supergirl’s take on Snapper Carr, who does exist in the DC Universe.
“Snapper Carr is a headstrong, sharp-witted newsman, hired by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) to be the editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine. Snapper’s commitment to hard-hitting journalism pushes CatCo reporters to dig deeper in the pursuit of excellence. He’s a man who tells people what he thinks of them, and his no-holds barred approach pushes Kara (Melissa Benoist) in unexpected ways. (In the comics, Snapper Carr was a supporting civilian Justice League character.)”
The show is also adding Lena Luthor, Nick Farrow, Maggie Sawyer and a mystery character named “The Doctor”. In addition, we will be meeting Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin who will be playing Clark Kent/Kal-El a.k.a. Superman in the first two episodes of Season 2 of Supergirl. As we get closer to next week’s San Diego Comic-Con, more casting news will most likely be coming out, if not at the actual Supergirl panel.
Supergirl Season 2 is set to premiere on The CW this fall on Monday, October 10 at 8/7c.
