UPDATE: ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ Filmmakers Writing & Directing Joker & Harley Quinn Movie

Gal Gadot Chris Evans Academy Joker Harley QuinnThe Hollywood Reporter has revealed Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the duo behind Crazy Stupid Love are set to write and direct a Joker and Harley Quinn movie with Jared Leto and Margot Robbie both reprising their respective roles.

According to insiders, Leto and Robbie will return for “a criminal love story” but don’t expect the film anytime soon as it is set to follow the Suicide Squad sequel which is currently in development. Although it seems it may be a while before a Joker and Harley Quinn film comes to fruition, the project is reportedly further along in development than the Joker origin film which was revealed to be in early development. Warner Bros. is looking to use spinoffs such as the Joker origin film as a way of standing its slate of DC films apart from the ongoing cinematic universes from Marvel and Lucasfilm.

UPDATE: Deadline previously reported that the Joker and Harley Quinn film was Gotham City Sirens — meaning David Ayer was no longer set to direct the project that was to feature Robbie’s Harley Quinn alongside Poison Ivy and Catwoman, however, the trade has now updated their story, reporting that the Joker and Harley Quinn film and Gotham City Sirens are two separate projects and that Ayer is still attached to direct the latter.

Robbie also remains attached to the project as an executive producer. Her role as executive producer comes as part of a first-look deal she struck after Suicide Squad to develop and produce three feature films at Warner Bros. through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

As of now, the Joker and Harley Quinn film does not have a release date. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the DC Extended Universe as we learn it.

Some characters have either failed to live up to potential or were just poorly written, something that can often times drag down an otherwise good film. These characters stick out as weak spots in a growing universe and they deserve to be discussed so that these mistakes hopefully can be avoided in the future.

So, here are the 5 worst characters of the DC Extended Universe so far. Click next to take a look, but be warned that there will be some spoilers.

Their plan apparently is 900 Batman Universe films that may or may actually happen. That Man Of Steel 2 has yet to be officially announced is a travesty.

No one cares about Superman though.

There is an answer to this WB/DC has no faith in Justice League. So they are attempting to break all of the films apart in an attempt to save Wonder Woman and Batman. The individual IPs are more valuable than a shared universe.
