UPDATE: It appears CW Seed spoke too soon, as they confirmed on Twitter that October 14 is perhaps not the premiere date after all, but that more information is “coming soon”.
@tbuxton42 We spoke too fast. But coming soon.

While we are a few weeks away from the live-action DC Comics TV shows on The CW, with The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl (which is moving to CW this year), we are also expecting the return of an animated superhero show too.
Last year, CW Seed launched a Vixen animated series that starred Megalyn Echikunwoke as Mari McCabe a.k.a DC’s Vixen, who later came to life in live-action when the actress reprised the role in Arrow Season 4 for an episode. The animated show did get a Season 2 pick-up with an 6-episode order like the first season. But we had yet to hear any premiere date for Season 2 on CW Seed, until now.
Today an inquiring fan was asking when the second season is expected to start, while tagging the official CW Seed Twitter account which responded with the reveal that it Friday, October 14 is when Vixen returns.
@tece_girl @AwesomEmergency @CW_Vixen @TheCW_Legends October 14th!

Mari’s grandmother, Amaya Jiwe (played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers), will be featured in the upcoming second season of Legends of Tomorrow as the first Vixen, in the past, which premieres one day before Vixen Season 2 starts. In case you missed it from San Diego Comic-Con, here is a sneak peak at Season 2 which will feature several familiar voices as they make their animated debut.

Vixen Season 2 will start on Friday, October 14 at the official CW Seed website where you can also check out the first season.
