Daisy Ridley teased what that dark side Rey image from the recent Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker D23 footage might mean.
There isn’t much known about the plot to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But, the first two trailers from the film have raised lots of questions for Star Wars fans. The first revealed the return of Emperor Palpatine and the latest showed Daisy Ridley’s Rey, in dark robes with a double-bladed lightsaber.
Fans can expect to discover all the secrets when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters this December, but that hasn’t stopped the speculation. Some fans think Rey could be a clone controlled by Palpatine, while others think it’s just another force vision. Daisy Ridley has added more fuel to the fire, following her recent comments made in an interview with Yahoo! at D23 on dark side Rey:
“I mean, the evidence is on the screen. Take that evidence as you will, but there’s no smoke without fire. Just wait and see what J.J. and [co-writer Chris Terrio] did. It’s really impressive how they wrapped it up altogether and hopefully [with] a fitting ending.”
What do you think that image of Rey means? Do you it’s just a vision? Why do you think Daisy Ridley’s Rey would turn to the dark side of the force? Sound off in the comments below!
