Daisy Ridley revealed the complex relationship between Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren will be addressed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Perhaps one of the most contentious storylines in the new Star Wars trilogy is the complicated relationship between Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren. While both characters find themselves pitted against each other in the war between the Resistance and The First Order, it is hard to deny that Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren feel some sort of attraction towards each other.
Although some Star Wars fans are pulling for a romantic relationship between Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, others are adamantly against the idea of seeing the heroine fall for one of the most ruthless villains in the galaxy. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Daisy Ridley commented on the speculation surrounding the relationship between Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, noting that she’s interested to see how Star Wars fans will react to The Rise of Skywalker:
“It does not bother me, people writing theories. It’s really fun hearing them. Plus, because I know what’s sort of going to happen, I think it’ll be really interesting to see people’s reaction to [the final film]. Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing and some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t.”
Furthermore, Daisy Ridley confirmed J. J. Abrams will address complexities of a potential romantic connection between Rey Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren:
“It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”
