Dan Fogler Teases ‘Epic Battle Scenes’ In ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ With World War II Backdrop

Dan Fogler Fantastic Beasts

Dan Fogler teased the next installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise by saying that the third film will undoubtedly feature some “epic battle scenes.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald did not receive the critical acclaim that the Harry Potter franchise is used to, but the series still has three more films remaining. Production on the third film had been pushed back once before to work on the script, but has happened again due to the coronavirus.

The Fantastic Beasts series is leading towards the Global Wizarding War and the duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. This was all teased in the last film with Grindelwald’s vision of World War II. While promoting his Heavy Metal comics, Dan Fogler shared with SyFy what fans can expect in the next Fantastic Beasts film:

“I can say I read the script and the character development is really lovely and it’s very similar to the feel of the first movie, which I think is great. It’s leading toward this massive war with the backdrop of World War II, so you can just imagine epic battle scenes are coming.”

In the interview, Dan Fogler also touched on the recent coronavirus delay:

“We’re just waiting. I guess when everybody else starts [back up], when the mechanism starts to move again and everybody starts to get back to work, that’s when we’ll get back to work. Hopefully, sooner than later.”

Here is the official synopsis for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald:

At the end of the first film, the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise wizards and witches up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

Directed by David Yates from a script written by J. K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Jude Law, and Johnny Depp.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD. Fantastic Beasts 3 is dated for November 12, 2021.
