Daredevil: Born Again is introducing a new version of Kingpin’s wife Vanessa Fisk.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Sandrine Holt is replacing Ayelet Zurer in the role of Vanessa Fisk, a key character with ties to the villainous Kingpin. Additionally, Michael Gaston has joined the upcoming Daredevil series in an undisclosed role, adding to the growing excitement around the Disney Plus project.
In the pages of Marvel comics, Vanessa Fisk is the wife of Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin. She is often portrayed as a woman who is torn between her love for her husband and her own conscience. Ayelet Zurer played Venssa in two seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix.
Behind the camera, Michael Cuesta has been tapped to direct the pilot of Daredevil: Born Again. Cuesta is an experienced director who has worked on some of the most critically acclaimed TV shows of the last decade, with a resume that includes episodes of Dexter, Homeland and True Blood.
What to expect from the new Daredevil series
Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Jon Bernthal, Margarita Levieva and Michael Gandolfini are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing for Marvel.
Unfortunately for fans of Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, it has been confirmed that neither character will be returning for Daredevil: Born Again. The news has been met with disappointment from fans, as both characters played significant roles in the original Netflix series. However, it’s important to remember that the series is still in its early stages, and there’s always a chance that the characters could make a surprise appearance in future seasons.
