Netflix just announced that after three acclaimed seasons, Marvel’s Daredevil has officially been canceled and won’t return for a fourth season.
Shortly after the news dropped about the cancellation, official social media for the series shared this response, which consists of a special image commemorating the three main characters of the series: Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). They are shown together at a table on a Polaroid photo that has a message written on it that reads, “Justice Never Stops”. Right next to the photo is a small cocktail napkin that reads, “Nelson, Murdock & Page”.
This photo was shared on the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for Daredevil:
This response is similar to previous responses from Marvel’s Iron Fist and Luke Cage, which were both canceled by Netflix before Daredevil. As of right now, Jessica Jones and The Punisher remain the only Marvel series left on Netflix that have not been canceled, with the former currently filming its third season and the latter preparing to drop its second season very soon.
Given the popularity of the Daredevil character, especially when compared to its other Netflix counterparts, he will certainly return in future Marvel projects as mentioned in the official statement for the show’s cancellation. Hopefully, we will find out more news on the future of Daredevil as well as his fellow Defenders Iron Fist and Luke Cage very soon.
Daredevil season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, and Lesley Ann Warren.
Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world, or embracing his destiny as a hero.
Daredevil Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
