Netflix has arguably become as big as television these days. The paid subscription service went from a simple Blockbuster Video competitor to one of the biggest digital streaming services in the world. Most people these days have an active Netflix account, using it to watch a large variety of movies, TV shows, and exclusive original Netflix content.
However, not everybody has a Netflix account. After all, some simply don’t want to have to pay the monthly fee (which is more expensive these days than it was before). Of course, this means that they’ll miss out on a few Netflix originals, but not all of them. Sometimes, an original Netflix series will go on DVD for those who wish to own it in the more traditional sense. Such was the case when the Marvel/Netflix series Daredevil was released on DVD outside of the US.
While other regions got the first season of the series on DVD, the US was left out of home media sales. Now, thanks to a listing on Amazon, we know when we’ll be able to own Daredevil Season 1 on DVD. The official Amazon listing for Daredevil Season 1 puts it at a November 8 DVD release date, just in time for early Christmas shopping.
The price is listed as $39.99, and right now it looks like there’s no Blu-Ray option available, though that will likely change. Daredevil was the first Marvel series to premiere on Netflix, so it makes sense for it to release on DVD first. However, it’s worth noting that Jessica Jones released on DVD overseas close to the time Daredevil did, so it may not be too far behind.
