While Rosario Dawson has had a successful run as Claire Temple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Netflix shows, starting with Daredevil, it appears the actress is still up to taking on another comic book role if she were ever asked. Responding to enthusiastic suggestions from fans on Twitter that the actress would be the perfect choice to play She-Hulk, Rosario Dawson stated she would be honored to play the fan favorite character. Here’s what she had to say:
“Would be honored to assume the responsibility…!”
In the comic books, She-Hulk was the alter-ego of Jennifer White, the cousin of Dr. Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk. White received her ability to transform into She-Hulk after a bullet wound forced her receive an emergency blood transfusion from Banner. Banner’s radioactive blood led to White acquiring a mild version of the Hulk condition, wherein she becomes a green-hued Goliath with incredible strength, albeit while retaining her own personality. White later decides to retain her She-Hulk form permanently.
Though Rosario Dawson already plays Claire Temple, who herself is a combination of the same character from the comic books and the character Night Nurse, it would not be the first time that a live-action comic book adaptation would take creative liberty with the original source material.
