It seems like the X-Men have their hands full with Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey in the latest teaser for Dark Phoenix, as nearly 20 years of X-Men films come to a close in the last entry from Twentieth Century Fox before the franchise is rebooted by Disney.
Perhaps the second time is the charm for Twentieth Century Fox the studio brings this iteration of the franchise to a close with their second attempt at one of the X-Men’s most famous story arcs in Dark Phoenix. Twentieth Century Fox had previously attempted this story arc 13 years ago in X-Men 3: The Last Stand but was critically panned. This second attempt could prove to be a phoenix in its own right, rising from the ashes of the franchises previous failure.
In the latest teaser for the film, Sophie Turner’s portrayal of Jean Grey gives into the mighty power of the Phoenix Force as she takes on both allies and enemies. You can see the full teaser below:

Dark Phoenix is set to be the final installment of the current franchise, under Twentieth Century Fox, before the film series is rebooted under the Marvel and Disney umbrella. Here is the plot synopsis for the upcoming film:
This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.
Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
Dark Phoenix will be released in theaters on June 7, 2019.
