Dave Bautista wants to see the Guardians of the Galaxy with the X-Men.

With so many superhero properties in the movie and TV worlds, fans are always hoping that one character (or a group of characters) might eventually cross paths. Itโ€™s worked for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the CWโ€™s DC TV universe. But although Marvel has a larger shared universe, there is one group of famous superheroes who have not crossed paths with anyone within the MCU: The X-Men.

At this weekendโ€™s Heroes &ย Villains Fan Fest, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax inย Guardians of the Galaxyย and its upcoming sequel, was asked if heโ€™d like to see a crossover happen. And although heโ€™d like it, Dave Bautista’s response didnโ€™t exactly raise spirits.

Dave Bautista: “As a fan, I would love to see it. Unfortunately, itโ€™s always gonna be like that because the studios have a thing. X-Men vs. Avengers will probably never happen.”

Although all of the characters in the MCU belong to Marvel, the movie rights do not. Sony loaned Spider-Man to Marvel and Disney and the character first appeared in the MCU inย Captain America: Civil War. However, the X-Menโ€“whose most famous characters include Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Professor Xavier, Magento, and Mystique, among othersโ€“are owned by 20th Century Fox and have onlyย interacted with anyone aside from Deadpool so far.

But hey, if Spider-Man can make that leap, maybe thereโ€™s hope for the X-Men. Until then, thereโ€™sย Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2ย to look forward to. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Dave Bautista and the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel!
