David Ayer recently provided an update on Bright 2, explaining that he’s currently still working on the project.

While critics and fans were divided on David Ayer’s Bright when it debuted on Netflix, the streaming service liked it enough to order Bright 2 before the first film had even premiered. The film focused on a world much like our own but with the introduction of magic and fantasy creatures while following a Police Officer partnered with an Orc. It seems like fans will eventually get to see David Ayer’s Bright 2 with the director still working on the sequel.

When asked about Bright 2 by SlashFilm, David Ayer revealed that people constantly ask him about the world they built in the first film. He also mentioned that Bright 2 is a way of exploring the world in new ways. But for now, David Ayer’s Bright 2 is still in development according to the director. Take a look at what David Ayer said about the fantasy sequel below.

“Still in development. We’re working on it so hopefully we’ll be able to mount that up soon. It’s a great opportunity for all of us to explore the world more. I think people felt like there was a lot of doorways to explore. People were like, ‘Tell us about the dragon. Tell us about this, the history.’ So it’s a very rich world and I think we’re going to drill down some more.”
