During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hellboy star David Harbour addressed the rumor he has joined the cast of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow.
Marvel Studios’ post-Avengers: Endgame line-up includes a standalone movie centered on Black Widow that is expected to take place before the Scarlett Johansson character debuted in Iron Man 2. Yesterday, it was reported David Harbour joined the cast of the Black Widow film and while he would not confirm his involvement, he did express his interest in the project, especially considering director Kate Shortland will helm the movie:
“Yeah man, like I want to do the movie. [Marvel would] kick me out so fast…[if I reveal anything]. Look here’s what I will say. It’s being directed by this woman Kate Shortland who is a phenomenal director. She directed a movie called Lore. She’s a phenomenal director, so what’s really exciting to me about it is it’s gonna be like a real deep, interesting film. And so yeah, I’m just excited for it as a film as well as a superhero movie.”
In the meantime, David Harbour will make his debut as Hellboy when the eponymous hero’s reboot hits theaters next week.
Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.
Directed by Neil Marshall from a script co-written by character creator Mike Mignola, Andrew Cosby, and Christopher Golden, Hellboy stars David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Sasha Lane.
Hellboy will be released in theaters on April 12, 2019.
