The official DC Comics Twitter account posted a reaction to Batman scribe Tom King co-writing Ava DuVernay’s New Gods film.
Yesterday, it was reported Batman comic scribe Tom King will co-write the New Gods film with director Ava DuVernay. The news was welcomed by many fans who are looking forward the seeing the New Gods in their own film, especially considering there had not been a significant update on the project for some time beforehand, and now the official DC Comics Twitter account has posted the following response to Tom King’s hiring: “Darkseid is… STOKED.”

Directed by Ava DuVernay, Warner Bros. and DC’s New Gods film will be based on characters created and designed by Jack Kirby. Details on the film are currently unknown, though comic book incarnations of the New Gods have included characters such as Granny Goodness, Desaad, Godfrey, and the powerful villain Darkseid.
New Gods is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Batman, The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, and Nightwing.
