DC Films is looking towards the future with plans for new Superman and Green Lantern movies.
New Superman and Green Lantern movies have long been in development at DC Films. With Henry Cavill in limbo, the future of the Superman role is uncertain. While, Green Lantern Corps is currently being written by Geoff Johns and there’s also a series heading to HBO Max inspired by the emerald knight. As Warner Bros. plots the future of DC Films, Superman and Green Lantern Corps may finally have the spark needed to get off the ground.
According to Variety, DC is plotting the future of Superman and Green Lantern. The trade claims that DC has had discussions with J.J. Abrams to helm the Superman franchise and Michael B. Jordan even went in to pitch his vision for the role earlier this year. Jordan hasn’t attached himself to the role as we probably won’t see a new Superman film until after 2023.
Geoff Johns is currently busy writing the script for Green Lantern Corps and is set to hand in a draft by the end of the year. The studio is expected to pass the script along to Abrams and Bad Robot with the hopes that they’d produce the project. Variety also notes that Greg Berlanti could be brought on to the feature film due to his involvement on the Green Lantern series for HBO Max.
