It’s been a few months since the Merc with the Mouth promised that Cable would be in Deadpool 2, but the role has yet to be cast. The sequel will likely begin filming at the beginning of next year, so obviously an official announcement can’t be too far away. That said, it’s safe to assume that Tim Miller and 20th Century Fox have already considered a number of actors for the role, but now the identity of one them has been revealed.
During the latest episode of Meet the Movie Press, Mashable’s Jeff Sneider revealed that Bloodline star Kyle Chandler might be the current frontrunner to play Cable in the sequel. I bet you didn’t see that coming. According to Sneider:
“People were talking about Cable from Deadpool 2. There’s been a name floating around for Cable for months, hasn’t changed, don’t know if it’s changed. Didn’t make any calls about this. This was just the name that has been out there for months. So take this with a gigantic grain of salt. The biggest grain of salt your tiny little brain can imagine. The name that is floating around for Cable right now is Kyle Chandler.”
But, he didn’t stop there. Back in February, we told you that Domino would also appear in the sequel and apparently Miller and the studio are considering Halt and Catch Fire star Mackenzie Davis for the role.
“The name for Domino, who is said to be the scene-stealer of the movie, is Mackenzie Davis.”
Both of these actors are definitely interesting choices, especially Chandler. Expect to hear something official about Cable and Domino very soon, but until then, feel free to sound-off your thoughts on the news in the comment section below. You can check out the reveal in the video below (skip to the 52:07 minute mark for the rumor).
