Henry Cavill isn’t the only DC hero joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Dwayne Johnson is set to make his debut as an iconic X-Men character in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Rumors about Henry Cavill appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine have been rampant the last few months, with seemingly every scooper coming out to say that he’ll be playing a Wolverine variant in the film. Those rumors have now been confirmed, along with the fact that Dwayne Johnson will be joining him in the transition to the MCU.
While Henry Cavill will be playing Wolverine, Dwayne Johnson is set to take up the other half of an iconic duo. Yes, the Black Adam actor will be playing Charles Xavier in Deadpool and Wolverine, cementing him as the latest in a long line of actors to take up the iconic role, and the second in the MCU’s multiverse.
Dwayne Johnson’s New Take On Charles Xavier
Dwayne Johnson is set to reinvent the character of Charles Xavier for Deadpool and Wolverine. While the character is traditionally a teacher raising a new generation of mutant heroes, the MCU version of the character will instead focus on teaching fools exactly what the X-Men are cooking in the wrestling ring.
Following his appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine, Dwayne Johnson will star as Charles Xavier in his own MCU solo film. The movie is set to be titled Professor X: Don’t Deal With The Devil and will be an adaptation of the What If…? storyline where the X-Men leader gets imbued with the Spirit of Vengeance.
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expected to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
