Renowned comic book creator Rob Liefeld is taking his storytelling from the panels to the page with a memoir. Announced by The Hollywood Reporter, the memoir, titled Robservations, will be published by BenBella Publishing in early 2025. Known for his significant contributions to the comic book industry over the last three decades, Liefeld will provide a candid look into the pivotal moments and behind-the-scenes stories of his illustrious career.

Rob Liefeld’s comic book career
In the early 1990s, Liefeld rose to fame with his work on Marvel’s The New Mutants and later X-Force, marking the beginning of a transformative period in his career and the comic book industry. His departure from Marvel in 1992, alongside other notable illustrators, to found Image Comics, catalyzed a significant shift towards creator-owned comic books.
Image’s launch of Youngblood #1, Liefeld’s brainchild, not only set the stage for the company’s success but also championed the concept of creators retaining ownership over their work. His popular comic book creations also include Bloodstrike and Prophet.
The announcement of Rob Liefeld’s memoir coincides with the anticipated return of Deadpool to cinemas in Deadpool & Wolverine, set for release on July 26. Liefeld, who is credited with co-creating Deadpool, a character that has achieved significant popularity in both comics and film, will likely offer insights into the creation and evolution of such iconic characters in his upcoming memoir.
