The cast of Marvel’s The Defenders continues to grow, but the latest addition is someone who we’ve yet to meet in the Netflix side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Defenders Twitter account has just revealed that Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing will appear in the upcoming 8-part series. You can check out the announcement below.

The first two episodes are being directed by SJ Clarkson, who’s best known for her work on Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. Clarkson will also serve as an executive producer on the premiere episode, which is currently filming in New York under the working title “Group Therapy.”
Henwick joins a cast that so far includes Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Deborah Ann Woll, Simone Missick, Elden Henson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Rachel Taylor, Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn. Sigourney Weaver will be playing the main villain in the series, but her role is being kept under wraps.
Here’s the official synopsis for the series:
“Marvel’s The Defenders” follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Marvel’s The Defenders will debut on Netflix in 2017.
