‘The Defenders’ Scene Shows Matt Murdock’s Confession About Elektra

Marvel’s The Defenders had a significant presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Across the street from the convention center, Netflix featured the series alongside Stranger Things and Bright for an incredible offsite experience that allows fans to see some of the props and mock-up sets from those three projects.

Marvel and Netflix also had a panel for The Defenders in Hall H on Friday evening where much of the series’ cast appeared onstage to discuss the highly-anticipated culmination of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Much to the crowd’s surprise, the first episode of the series premiered in Hall H and has since received strong praise.

On Twitter, the official account for The Defenders released a scene from the first episode of the show. This scene focuses on Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he having a sacrament of penance with Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie). Father Lantom asks Matt about his feelings regarding his lost love Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung), which leads to Matt reflecting on both the good and bad experiences he had with her.

Here is the synopsis for The Defenders:

“Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

All episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders will be available to stream on Netflix on August 18, 2017.

15 Villains To Watch Out For In The ‘Defenders’ Universe

It’s no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has concentrated on their heroes over their villains on the film side. Some fans biggest complaints are that the villains serve more as a tool, a plot device, or an obstacle for our heroes to overcome. That is not the case in the Marvel/Netflix Defenders shows. Since the shows have more than 13 hours to develop characters, they have 13 hours to develop their antagonists as well. Some of the best character work in the entire MCU has been done for Wilson Fisk (Daredevil), Kilgrave (Jessica Jones), Cottonmouth (Luke Cage), and Ward Meachum (Iron Fist).

As “Phase 1” of the Netflix shows comes to a conclusion with The Defenders teaming up all our heroes against Alexandra and the Hand, you know that they will be gearing up for “Phase 2.” This means that there will be new adventures for our heroes, as well as new dynamic villains to give them all sorts of trouble. Some villains would be some returning from previous shows, others are classic Marvel characters that need to come to the small screen in this universe. Here is a list of some villains surely to make a park in future Marvel/Netflix shows. Click Next to take a look….
