‘The Defenders’ Set Photo Reveals Stan Lee Cameo

The Defenders Marvel Netflix Logo

One of the most quintessential Marvel traditions are the ongoing cameos by comic book legend/icon Stan Lee. Even before the Marvel Cinematic Universe began, Lee made hilarious appearances that put smiles on millions of fans every time his likeness appears. Lee’s cameos are so beloved, that they are an exception when it comes to unnecessary fan service in major geek properties. At this point, his appearances in Marvel film and television are akin to John Ratzenberger’s voice appearing in every single Pixar film.

Now, fans can expect to see the legend’s likeness on their television screens later this summer. In a photo from the set of Marvel’s The Defenders, we see Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones standing in front of a poster featuring Lee. This poster promotes the New York Police Department (NYPD) and seemingly showcases that not all heroes wear capes. You can see this image on Reddit.

Lee has been featured in Marvel’s first three Netflix series. A photo of him is shown on the wall of the police precinct of Hell’s Kitchen in both the first seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Lee was also featured in another NYPD poster in Luke Cage. What do you think will be Stan Lee’s cameo in Marvel’s upcoming Iron Fist and The Punisher? Also, what are some of your favorite Stan Lee cameos in both Marvel movies and television? Sound off in the comments below.

Starring Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Elodie Yung, Sigourney Weaver, Eka Darville, Simone Missick, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Scott Glenn, Rachael Taylor, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Henwick, all episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders are set to premiere on Netflix this summer. Meanwhile, the first season of Iron Fist will premiere on March 17 and The Punisher will premiere later this year.
