When The Defenders unites the four title heroes of Marvel’s previous four Netflix shows, fans can likely assume that they will be joining forces to save New York City from the criminal organization known as the Hand. Less certain are details on the mysterious Alexandra, played by Sigourney Weaver, who is set to be the primary antagonist of the highly anticipated series. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, co-showrunner Marco Ramirez remained tight-lipped on details surrounding Alexandra, but he did reveal that she will not be leaving all of the physical work to any underlings.

Ramirez revealed that Alexandra will be involved in fight scenes and recalled Sigourney Weaver’s approach to her action sequences.

“[Weaver] said, ‘I’ve never been a martial arts kind of gal, I’m more of a hold-the-flamethrower kind of gal.’ I’d love to tattoo that interaction onto my forehead forever. She was really willing to do things, to really get dirty, it was wonderful.”
