More Details Revealed About ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Thor: Ragnarok

Brand new ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ details have hit the web, and they reveal a lot more information about the direction of the movie. And whilst they should be taken with a grain of salt, they certainly tease some interesting choices.

When the films title was first announced, most comic fans assumed that this would be an adaptation of the classic apocalyptic ‘Thor’ tale of the same name. However, new details tell us that the two gigantic heroes will be stranded on a planet, named Ragnarok. Whilst specifics are a little sparse, the planet Ragnarok will have a style that is described as a mix between ‘Mad Max’ and ‘Gladiator’.

During their stay on Ragnarok, Thor and Hulk are forced to fight to escape in the fighting arenas. The arenas are overseen by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) who has his own bodyguard named Skurge, played by Karl Urban. Who will supposedly play a huge part during the plot. Whilst fighting in the arenas Thor runs into another well known comics character, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) another contestant. ONce they both earn each other’s respect, they attempt to find a way off the planet. Another plot point released was that somehow Skurge switches sides and help the trio escape.

We’re still a long way from a trailer, and even further from the film’s release, so these few details will have to tide us over until then.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will debut on November 3rd, 2017.

It’s certainly different than the comics but sounds like it’ll work. Of course there is no definitive source for this so it might all be nonsense.

  • Seb

So it’s Planet Hulk. Grandmaster is Red King, Skurge is Caiera, Valkyrie is replacing the Warbound. The Korg tease is probably that Korg is one of the other gladiators they fight.

  • Sounds like a pretty neat integration of Planet Hulk and Ragnarok. I’m down, it should be a blast. This is one of my most eagerly awaited CBMs for sure!

I’m really hoping for Beta Ray Bill.

Would be cool. In the comics, it was Silver Surfer. Beta Ray Bill was used in the animated movie because they didn’t have the rights to Silver Surfer.
