The Wild Storm writer Brain Edward Hill is reportedly having a run on Detective Comics that will begin with a story featuring Batman teaming up with Black Lightning.

The story will immediately following the departure of longtime Detective Comics writer, James Tynion IV who is departing the book after issue #981. He is first slated to co-write one of the No Justice weekly event that is due for release in May, alongside fellow Batman scribe, Scott Snyder. He will then helm a currently unnamed Justice League book.

The first Detective Comics story from Hill will be a two part arc with artwork by Miguel Mendonça. The arc is currently titled as On The Outside and will be released on June 13th and June 27th. Hill’s run will start on issue #982 and will reportedly last at least five issues. It is currently unknown if this will be the start of a much longer run.
