‘Doom Patrol’ Star Diane Guerrero Wants To Play Green Lantern Jessica Cruz

The star already voiced Jessica Cruz in 'Justice League vs. the Fatal Five'.

Doom Patrol star Diane Guerrero wants to play the Jessica Cruz version of Green Lantern for her next DC role.

Although she can currently be seen as Crazy Jane in Doom Patrol, Diane Guerrero is eyeing up another DC character that she’s played in the past. In the animated movie Justice League vs. the Fatal Five, Guerrero voiced the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz as the team face off against futuristic enemies as well as finding a new ally in Starboy. Jessica Cruz has a fascinating story arc, as she struggles with her role as a Green Lantern after she watched the murder of her friends.

During her takeover of the Doom Patrol Twitter account, Diane Guerrero was asked by a fan which other DC character she’d like to play. The star answered “Jessica Cruz, Green Lantern! That’s my next DC character, just to put it out there…”. Since the Green Lantern series is heading to HBO Max soon and will feature a number of different Lanterns, the star might get her chance to play Jessica Cruz in live-action sooner rather than later.

Do you think the star would make a good Green Lantern? What did you think of Jessica Cruz in the animated Justice League movie? Sound-off in the comments below!

Diane Guerrero currently stars in Doom Patrol, here is the official synopsis for the first season:

DOOM PATROL is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities—but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence—and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

Doom Patrol season two is currently airing on HBO Max. The 13-episode first season is now available on DC Universe.
