Diego Luna is back in action as Rogue One‘s Cassian Andor in the new trailer for his upcoming Disney Plus Star Wars series Andor.
Diego Luna’s return in Andor was announced back in 2018 and fans finally got to see the series’ first trailer in May, when it debuted at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. The series will follow Luna’s Cassian Andor five years prior to Rogue One, in the lead-up to the founding of the Rebel Alliance.
The second trailer for the upcoming Disney Plus series has debuted today, giving fans a better look at Diego Luna’s return to the role of Cassian Andor.
Rise Of The Rebellion
The new trailer for Andor debuted today on Good Morning America, during an appearance from star Diego Luna.
The series will reveal how Cassian Andor went from a refugee reluctant to take action against the Empire to a Rebel spy. As well as Luna’s Cassian, Andor welcomes back characters such as Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma and Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera, as last seen in Rogue One.

Andor has also received a slightly later release date of September 21, but with the reveal that the Star Wars series will be getting a three-episode premiere. Andor will run for a longer season than previous live-action Star Wars series, with 12 episodes confirmed for each of its two seasons.
Taking place shortly before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, in the same era as Star Wars Rebels, Andor has plenty of opportunities to deliver cameos from both the original Star Wars trilogy and the Dave Filoni-helmed animated series.
Diego Luna first appeared as Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here is the synopsis for the film:
Former scientist Galen Erso lives on a farm with his wife and young daughter, Jyn. His peaceful existence comes crashing down when the evil Orson Krennic takes him away from his beloved family. Many years later, Galen becomes the Empire’s lead engineer for the most powerful weapon in the galaxy, the Death Star. Knowing that her father holds the key to its destruction, Jyn joins forces with a spy and other resistance fighters to steal the space station’s plans for the Rebel Alliance.
