Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor prequel series is expected to hit Disney Plus in 2021.

One of the most anticipated original series for Disney Plus is Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor series, which will show the origins of the Rebel pilot. The Star Wars series is expected to show us the more ruthless, brooding approach that the Rebel alliance had before they destroyed the Empire. In the Cassian Andor series, which is currently untitled, Diego Luna’s character will be younger.

While discussing the kerfuffle surrounding the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney Plus, Variety revealed that Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor series is expected to hit Disney Plus in 2021. Currently, The Mandalorian is streaming on Disney Plus, with the final season of The Clone Wars coming soon.

Joining Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor for the series is Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO. In Rogue One, where both Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk’s characters first appeared, Cassian Andor helped repair and reprogram the Imperial droid K-2SO. Not many details have been released regarding Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor series, though it is set to be a prequel for the character as he perished at the end of Rogue One. The Cassian Andor series is expected to touch upon the backstory of the character, as well as give us a different look at the political landscape of Star Wars.
