Disney CEO Bob Iger discusses the plan for password sharing and also discussed the piracy concerns surrounding Disney Plus.

The Disney CEO recently addressed the company’s plan regarding password sharing alongside the obvious piracy concerns that come with any streaming service. Bob Iger explained to CNBC that Disney weren’t too concerned with password sharing since Disney Plus allows users four concurrent live steams on their account at any time. Since their target audience is families, it makes sense that Disney Plus can be used on several devices at one time – allowing everyone to stream their movie or show of choice.

Bob Iger also briefly addressed the piracy concerns that go hand-in-hand with any paid for streaming service. Since Disney Plus won’t be available worldwide on its release, piracy of shows like The Mandalorian will simply be unavoidable for the fans not able to access Disney Plus on launch day. The Disney CEO simply mentioned that they’ll watch it carefully with a variety of tools that they’ve got to ensure it doesn’t get out of hand. Take a look at what the Disney CEO had to say about Disney Plus below.

“I think it’ll be similar to what others are doing. It’s obviously something we’ll be mindful of. We’re setting up a service that is very family friendly, we expect families to be able to consume it — four live streams at a time, for instance. We’ll watch it carefully with the various tools, technology tools, that we have available to us to monitor it. But it’s obviously something we have to watch. The fact that you can have four concurrent live streams was very popular, the personalization was also quite popular, and most importantly, the ability to download without restriction was very, very popular.”
