We may see mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier than expected as Disney’s D23 website has listed the upcoming film, The New Mutants as part of the shared movie universe.
Since the Disney acquisition of Fox, the looming question over Marvel Studios was how the company was going to integrate mutants, specifically the X-Men, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The popular idea is that Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe would simply discard everything from the Fox X-Men franchise and start fresh somewhere down the road. However, based on a headline from Disney’s D23 website, plans may already be in place to make The New Mutants part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Disney website doesn’t give away how this will work but calls The New Mutants a new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
There’s a seriously electrifying new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it comes in the form of the latest from Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment…
