It appears that Avengers: Endgame features a massive continuity error regarding Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

The Avengers: Endgame continuity error in question finds Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange ready for battle alongside the army of iconic Marvel heroes teaming up with the Avengers. During the epic scene, Doctor Strange is not wearing the Eye of Agamotto around his neck as he asks his fellow sorcerer Wong (played by Benedict Wong) if that is all the allies they can find. A few moments later, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is in battle position right before Captain America (Chris Evans) exclaims, “Avengers… Assemble,” but Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme appears to be wearing the Eye of Agamotto again.

In the third act of Avengers: Endgame, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Wong and other sorcerers open up numerous portals from different places in the universe to bring in as many heroic allies as possible to help the Avengers defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his massive army.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return as Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will also feature Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently slated to hit theaters on May 7, 2021.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the synopsis:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
