A behind-the-scenes image for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals unused cameos for Deadpool and Cable.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now streaming on Disney Plus, and along with the film’s streaming debut, also comes the release of a brand new episode of Marvel Studios’ Assembled, which explores the making of the newest film from Sam Raimi. The special spotlights some exciting behind-the-scenes footage, including an exciting glimpse at what appears to be a deleted cameo appearance from Deadpool and Cable.

Below, you’ll see a gallery of different images showcasing some of the proposed universes that both Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) travel through in quick succession. On the top right corner, you’ll see a universe dominated by Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), including the famous image featuring the Merc with a Mouth and Cable (Josh Brolin) mimicking The Creation of Adam painting from Michelangelo:

Will Cable be in Deadpool 3?

Given this proposed image featuring a cameo by Deadpool and Cable, some are speculating if this signifies some of the plans in store for the highly-anticipated third standalone film with Ryan Reynolds. The film will now be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Reynolds seems to be the only confirmed cast member at this time.

If an appearance by Cable in this proposed cameo from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is any indication, it’s possible that Marvel Studios looks to bring the character back in the future, maybe in Deadpool 3. In particular, if Josh Brolin portrays him again, don’t be surprised to see some fourth-wall humor referencing that fact.

Here is the synopsis for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:
