One of Doctor Strange‘s largest selling points was the use of IMAX and 3D to enhance the already stunning visuals. From the city bending in on itself to the outstanding time-looped ‘bargain’ scene, every last detail was created to perfection. What would happen, however, if you took those visuals away and replaced them with old school 8 bit graphics?
CineFix has answered that question, turning the entirety of the Doctor Strange film into an 8 bit video. From the initial car crash, to the fight in the mirror dimension, to the show down with Dormammu, it’s all there. The visuals from the Marvel film are replicated throughout the video, and even though it is in 8 bit it was still impressively done. Check out the video below:
Here’s the official synopsis for the Doctor Strange movie:
Dr. Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
