Dolph Lundgren shared his excitement for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom while praising James Wan and the film’s stars.

During DC FanDome back in October, we got our first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which provided a little tease at the film’s story. Principal photography on the sequel is still underway in the United Kingdom.

Many of the first film’s cast will return in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, including Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lundgren explained why he thinks the upcoming Aquaman sequel will be better than the first film:

“That whole picture is just a class act. Everybody from James Wan and Jason Momoa to Amber Heard and the producers. I think this one is better. I think the script is stronger and it’s more exciting. The technology has moved forward in four years, so I was really pleased to be a part of it. James Wan is just going to blow everybody away again by this tremendous world that he creates. He’s involved in every little detail, even every little piece of every weapon, and I think it’s going to be great.”

Here is the synopsis for the first Aquaman film:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
