A new promotional image for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker offers fans a first look at Dominic Monaghan’s character from the movie.

With Triple Force Friday merchandise hitting the shelves, the first image of Dominic Monaghan’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker character has officially been revealed to the public. His character has appeared in certain sourcebooks and bits of merchandise specifically tied to the next Star Wars movie, which will close out the “Skywalker Family Saga” and complete the stories of Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren.

Naturally, Dominic Monaghan was pleased to find out about this, and so he shared the image of his Star Wars character on his official Twitter page. You can check out Dominic Monaghan’s Twitter post below.

Early details about Dominic Monaghan’s role suggest that his character will predominantly appear in the first act of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and that he may or may not have a supporting role after that. Dominic Monaghan is best known for his role as Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and previously worked with The Rise of Skywalker director J. J. Abrams on Lost.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
