Don Cheadle On ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer; Says Things Do ‘Look Bad For Rhodey’

There’s been a lot of speculation regarding that particular scene in the trailer for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War featuring Tony Stark holding an injured James Rhodes. Could we see Rhodey end up a casualty of the film’s central conflict? While he couldn’t reveal any details about the situation, Don Cheadle recently spoke with New York Daily News and commented briefly on that moment in the trailer and the fan’s reaction to it.

I’m on Twitter, so I’ve gotten a few people going, ‘Rhodey better not be dead, son. I’m going to be so mad.’ Or ‘I’m done with this thing if Rhodey’s dead.’ But that’s cool, I like that people get so upset about it. I like that in a Marvel movie people are able to evoke such emotion.

When asked about the mysterious shot that that takes War Machine down and what that means for the character, Cheadle simply replied that “does look bad for Rhodey”. What do you think the future holds for the character? Who do you think that shot came from? Sound off in the comments section below.

“Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
