Audition Tape For ‘Doom Patrol’ Series Confirms Flex Mentallo Will Appear

A new audition tape featuring actor Brett Davis reveals that Flex Mentallo will appear on DC Universe’s Doom Patrol.

Tomorrow, February 15, DC Universe’s Doom Patrol finally debuts its first episode on the streaming service. Many strange characters from the DC comics pantheon will be featured in the series and a new set of audition tapes have revealed another iconic character who will be joining the cast, Flex Mentallo.

Brett Davis recently revealed his Flex Mentallo audition tape via Vimeo (h/t Geeksworldwide), making it the first confirmation that the character will be appearing in the series. There’s no telling when Flex Mentallo will appear on the show, or whether or not Brett Davis will be playing him, but DC Universe fans can check out the audition in the awesome video below.

The cast of Doom Patrol first appeared in the fellow DC Universe series Titans, during episode four of the series’ first season. Although some of the cast members have changed, the same loveable characters from the episode, as well as some new faces, will lead the new series focusing on the titular gang of misfit metahumans.

DOOM PATROL is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities—but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence—and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

The DC Universe original series stars Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief.

The series will premiere tomorrow, exclusively on DC Universe.
