Durex India is jumping on the Joaquin Phoenix bandwagon with a unique new Joker condom ad.
The anticipation for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker film is through the roof and some companies are capitalizing on it in very unique ways. Perhaps the most interesting is a new ad from Durex India which has included a Joker condom ad and it’s rather creative on how it went about it. The Durex ad itself shows a seemingly normal bed with what appears to be a blue robe, a red pillow and a red blanket seemingly spread at random throughout the bed. However, a second look will show you that they are all arranged in a way that makes it look like half of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker face.
Durex India’s official Twitter account posted the ad with a caption above it that took a line from Heath Ledger’s Joker from the 2008 film, The Dark Knight. The bottom right corner of the Durex ad does something similar with a caption that says “LET’S PUT A SMILE ON BOTH OF YOU”. You can see the full Joker ad from Durex India below:

Todd Phillips wrote the Joker movie script with Scott Silver (8 Mile), drawing inspiration from Martin Scorsese classics such as Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, with the film taking place in a gritty 1980s Gotham. It’s said to focus on Joaquin Phoenix as a failed comedian who becomes The Joker after bombing with audiences.
The film is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival this weekend ahead of its U.S. debut in Toronto. The highly-anticipated movie opens in theaters nationwide this October. Here is the official synopsis for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:
Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.
Opening in theaters on October 4, 2019, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Brett Cullen, Bryan Callen, and Robert De Niro. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates on the Joker movie!
