Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam comes to life in a fan-made animation of the recently unveiled official concept art.

Last week, Dwayne Johnson announced that Black Adam will be released in theaters in December 2021 through a post on his official Instagram account. Included with the announcement was an official concept illustration of Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam created by digital artist BossLogic and DC Comics artist Jim Lee.

Now, graphic designer Veli Okulan has created an animated video of the aforementioned concept art that shows Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in action. The short video depicts Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam floating in the air before disappearing as a bolt of lightning hits the ground after the DC hero shouts, “Shazam!”

Warner Bros. and DC’s Shazam! was originally going to feature Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam before the decision was made to give the character his own standalone film.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
