Hobbs and Shaw star Dwayne Johnson just threw shade at Tyrese Gibson with a box office update on the Fast and Furious spin-off.
The tension between Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson over Hobbs and Shaw only escalated further recently when the Hobbs and Shaw star posted the global box office update of the Fast and Furious spin-off film to his Instagram page. For those keeping score, Tyrese Gibson wrote a post stating that the Hobbs and Shaw global opening of $181 million wasn’t a win, though he did slyly say he’d like to see Dwayne Johnson return to the main Fast and Furious films.
Most recently, Dwayne Johnson returned fire with his own post dismissing Tyrese Gibson’s previous comments while celebrating Hobbs and Shaw‘s global box office returns of $700 million, an impressive feat. But Dwayne Johnson’s shot at Tyrese Gibson cheekily says “Assassins quietly play chess loud clowns play checkers.” Shots fired. Take a look at Dwayne Johnson’s post below to see his full comments.

Here is the official synopsis for Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Shaw:
Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves. Hobbs & Shaw blasts open a new door in the Fast universe as it hurtles action across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and from the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl to the lush beauty of Samoa.
Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Chris Morgan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren.
