It was just announced at the HBO Max event that Elizabeth Banks is developing DC Super Hero High for the upcoming streaming service.

HBO Max is in the middle of making major announcements in regards to original content that will be available on their streaming service. It was recently reported that HBO Max will provide original DC shows and a few were just announced.  During the event, it is was announced that Elizabeth Banks is developing a series titled, DC Super Hero High.

The upcoming project from Elizabeth Banks will be a half-hour comedy series and is described as:

“Experiencing the fun and drama of adolescence at a boarding school for gifted kids. These teens are just trying to navigate the pressures of high school, but none of them realize that someday they will become legendary DC Super Heroes.”

It seems HBO Max’s DC Super Hero High from Elizabeth Banks could be focusing on younger characters from the DC Universe. Are there any DC characters you would like to see appear in the series? Are you excited to see a comedy set in the DC Universe? Sound off in the comments below!

DC Super Hero High isn’t Elizabeth Banks’s first foray in the comic book world. Elizabeth Banks also played Betty Brant in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. During the event, DC Superhero High was also not the only DC series announced for the HBO Max. Greg Berlanti is developing Green Lantern and Strange Adventures shows for the streaming service as well. The streaming service is expected to launch in May 2020.
