‘WandaVision’ Star Elizabeth Olsen Doesn’t Know Marvel’s Plans For Wanda’s Future

Will Wanda return to the MCU?

Elizabeth Olsen has revealed she isn’t sure whether she will be back in the MCU as Wanda Maximoff following the conclusion to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda’s current status in the MCU is not yet clear, though she is believed to have died on Mount Wundagore. Following her transformation into the Scarlet Witch over the course of WandaVision, she tore through the multiverse in a bloody search for variants of her lost children in Multiverse of Madness. Wanda ultimately sacrificed herself to destroy the Darkhold, which had corrupted her.

Wanda’s death, however, was kept off screen. In the world of comic book movies, this likely means she survived the collapse of Mount Wundagore and will be appearing in the MCU again in future. But Elizabeth Olsen claims to know nothing about that.

Will Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch Return?

Speaking to Variety in a recent interview, Elizabeth Olsen claimed to have no knowledge of what the future may have in store for Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Olsen claimed no future plans for Wanda had been agreed on at Marvel, suggesting the character’s return and next appearance are still up in the air. Of course, it’s possible plans have been drawn up for Wanda at Marvel Studios, but Olsen is yet to be clued in.

Asked about Wanda’s MCU future, Elizabeth Olsen said:

“I really don’t know my future. There’s nothing that has been agreed on.”

Of course, it’s possible the Scarlet Witch actress is simply lying to avoid giving away any spoilers on her MCU future. As her death was not explicitly shown and came following a moment of redemption, it is likely Wanda will soon be reuniting with the Avengers. As one of the MCU’s most powerful magic-wielders, she is unlikely to have been killed so easily.
