Ethan Cutkosky suits up as Robin in a cool new piece of fan art that transforms the Shameless star into the Boy Wonder for The Batman.
Warner Bros. and DC are moving forward with a new live-action Batman film featuring Robert Pattinson as a young Bruce Wayne. However, despite the fact that The Batman will take place during the Dark Knight’s early years, many fans are already hoping to see Robin by the crimefighter’s side and some consider Shameless star Ethan Cutkosky to be the perfect candidate to bring the character to life.
While Ethan Cutkosky’s role as Carl Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless is his most significant acting credit to date, that hasn’t kept digital artist “BritEdit” from creating artwork that imagines the young actor as Robin for The Batman. In the post, the artist points out that Ethan Cutkosky would be perfect for the Jason Todd version of Robin, who can currently be seen on DC Universe’s Titans, played by Curran Walters.

Full plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves project will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Shameless star Ethan Cutkosky, Robin and the next Batman movie.
